Aligning our promises with global sustainability goals
- Complete Social and Human Rights Impact Assessment (SHRIA) at all major sites and implement site-specific Social and Human Rights Management Plans (SHRMPs) to respect human rights, support vulnerable communities, and promote inclusive growth
- Impact 0.5 million lives directly through economic enhancement & improving the quality of life
- 30,000 individuals to be made employable through skilling and entrepreneurial opportunities
- 100% active supplier evaluation on ESG & Risk Management
- Achieve 25% of total procurement spend from local business partners (includes contracting & sub-contracting spend) from base year 2025
- Transition to greener fuels for advancing Scope 3 emission reduction
- Halting and reversing biodiversity loss, through measurable gains in the health, abundance, diversity and resilience of species, ecosystems, and natural processes
- Plan and strive to achieve no net loss of biodiversity at all mine sites by closure through application of mitigation hierarchy
Accelerate mitigation and adaptation measures to achieve:
- 50% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions
- 25% reduction in Scope 3 emissions
- Achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050 or earlier
Environmental incidents and performance
The Environment Incident Reporting and Management System encompasses the following steps :
- Incident Reporting: Employees utilize Vunified to report environmental incidents within the plant.
- Evaluation and Assessment: Reported incidents are assessed using predefined severity scales, which determine the appropriate resolution timeframe.
- Investigations: Incidents are thoroughly investigated to uncover the root causes and key issues of the incidents.
- Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA): Depending on the severity of the incidents, corrective and preventive measures are formulated.
- Action Plan Distribution: The developed action plans are distributed and executed at the site level to effectively resolve the incidents.

|---|---|
| Severity 1/Category 1 | The incident that has localized short-term impact on the environment within the section of our premises. Remediation is not required, or clean-up is quick and easy. |
| Severity 2/Category 2 | The incident that has localized short term impact on the environment within the premises. Remediation is required, and clean-up is more complex. |
| Severity 3/Category 3 | Incidents likely to cause a short-term impact on the environment [Inside/outside premises). Remediation is required and likely to take less than 1 month |
| Severity 4/Category 4 | Incidents which may lead to fines or other sanctions resulting in receipt of directions from regulatory authorities. Remediation is required and likely to take more than 1 month and less than 3 months |
| Severity 5/Category 5 | Incidents which may result in possible suspension or closure of operations or can attract national media coverage. Remediation is required and likely to take more than 3 months. |
